Adaklu has best kindergartens in Volta region

Mr Kwame Agbodza, Member of Parliament for Adaklu has observed that Adaklu has the highest number and best kindergartens in the Volta region.
“My observation is that no other district or municipality had built about 10 kindergartens in the past five years, but that is what we have done with modern designs,” he said at the commissioning of a kindergarten block with dinning shed and sanitation facilities at Adaklu Kpodzi.
The MP said the importance of basic education could not be underestimated hence the investment and partnership with Pencils of Promise and Adanu, an education focused non-governmental organizations to build kindergartens and make education appealing to beginners.
He said the initiative was to ensure that a lot more children enrolled in school even in areas where children are not fed in school.
Mr Agbodza said the kindergarten had also freed mothers from taking care of the children at home and they now have time for farming and other economic activities.
The Adaklu-Kpodzi project, was started by the previous adminstration and completed by the current government at the cost of GHȼ149,986.00. The kindergarten also has two classrooms, an office and a store.
Mr Phanuel Donkor Kadey, the District Chief Executive said his administration had prioritised education and would not hesitate to direct resources to the sector, especially if it had to do with the development of children.
He tasked teachers to recommit themselves to imrpoving teaching and learning and build solid foundation for the children in the District.
The DCE said the Assembly was working to deliver some 3,500 desks to the Adaklu-Kpodzi Basic School to ensure that the pupils had conducive environment to study.
Mr Eric Agbko, Head teacher of the Adaklu-Kpodzi Junior High School assured that the new kindergarten block would be put to good use and commended the MP and the DCE for the foresight and commitment to education in the District.
Togbe Komatsi Amematsidor VI, Chief of Adaklu-Kpodzi commended government for completing the project and charged teachers and parents to work together to improve education in the area.
