Head of churches in the Ashanti Region are taking the fight against illegal mining step further.
They are admonishing members of their congregations who engage in the destructive venture their offerings will be rejected.
Immediate past Diocesan Bishop of the Methodist Church, Right Reverend Prof Osei Sarfo Kantanka, addressed the media in Kumasi.
He says as worshipers of God, Christians are mandated to protect nature.
Reverend Sarfo Kantanka charges church leaders to use the pulpit to preach the disastrous effects of illegal mining.
He commends government for the anti-galamsey war, while calling for alternative means of employment for those involved in the act.
