“I will never repeat my conduct” – Bugri Naabu apologises

The Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Daniel Bugri Naabu has rendered an unqualified apology to the party following a war of words between him and the Gender Minister, Madam Otiko Afisa Djaba.

The NPP, at a National Council meeting Wednesday night expressed disapproval and regret against the actions and utterances of Mr Naabu and Madam Djaba and subsequently directed them to render apologies.

Consequently, in an apology letter dated May 11, 2017 and addressed to the party’s Acting General Secretary, Mr Naabu promised not to repeat his conduct.“I’m by this letter expressing my profound apology to the entire New Patriotic Party fraternity, the former president, the current vice president, the president and the good people of Ghana over the unfortunate exchange of words between my good self and Otiko Afisa Djaba,” the letter read.Mr Naabu also stated in the letter that he did not have any proof or evidence to support the allegations levelled against Madam Djaba and the Upper East Regional Minister, Mr Rockson Bukari, that they had a hand in the murder of Adams Mahama.Read also: Bugri Naabu clashes with Otiko over school feeding appointment (audio)According to him, he made those utterances out of extreme anger and provocation and promised not to repeat his conduct.

“I repeat unreservedly that, such conduct would never be repeated. It is my sincere prayer that, I would never repeat such a conduct again. It was due to extreme anger and provocation that I uttered those words as I do not have any proof or evidence to support those allegations,” the letter said.

He further prayed the party and the country as a whole to forgive him for any embarrassment his utterances may have caused.

“I very much regret for the embarrassment and inconvenience caused to the leadership of the party and the country as whole. Hope this apology would be accepted by all and sundry,” he said.
