Kpando NDC launches manual re-registration exercise for members

The opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) in the Kpando constituency has launched the manual re-registration exercise of members across the constituency.

At a workshop yesterday, branch executives were schooled on the exercise after which tools including registers which will be used for the exercise were presented to them.

Interacting with Lorlornyo News on the sidelines of the programme, Kpando constituency chairman of the party, Killian Donkor, called on sympathizers of the party in the constituency to get their names on the party’s register during the exercise.

He insisted individuals who wish to get their names on the register visit their respective branches on dates agreed upon to take part in the exercise.

He called on party members to be on the alert to ensure no irregularity is perpetuated during the exercise adding any suspicious act should be reported to the appropriate quarters.

Mr Donkor applauded members of the party who supported the exercise in various ways, which he believes will result in the party recapturing power in the 2020 general elections.

The party scrapped its biometric register to pave way for re-registration following complaints that some non-NDC members were on the register.

The NDC, prior to the election in 2016, commenced the registration of its members through a biometric system targeting to capture about 1.5 million members of the party.

Despite the fact that it was only put together in 2016, several members of the opposition party have blamed breaches in the biometric register for the party’s embarrassing loss in last year’s polls.
