Kpando PDS disconnects 291 customers

The Kpando District of the Power Distribution Services (PDS) has disconnected electricity power to 291 customers in a house- to- house disconnection exercise.

The Service also retrieved an amount of GH¢ 212,021.55 from 111 customers through the campaign led by Mrs Phaney Adiko, Acting District Manager of Kpando, with support from the Revenue Protection Section and staff of the Volta Regional Office in Ho.

The team visited houses, schools, guest houses and some small scale businesses like cold stores in Vakpo, Wusuta, Tsrukpe, Botoku, Nkonya – Ahenkro, Nkonya-Kejebi, and Nkonya-Tepo.

After the revenue mobilization exercise, a few customers were caught in illegal self reconnection, bypassing meter and tampering with meter and were redisconnected.

Those customers were later served with summon letters to report to the District PDS office.

Mrs Adiko told the media the exercise was to support ongoing revenue mobilization in the Region and urged the public to pay bills promptly and desist from illegal connections.

She also urged the public to report people who engaged in illegal acts for financial rewards.
