Mr Patrick Jilima, Municipal Chief Executive of Krachi East in the Volta Region, has donated assorted items to kindergarten and lower primary pupils in the municipality.

The donation made up of drinking cups, writing materials, food snacks, shoes, and toothbrushes were presented as part of activities to mark the first school day on the academic calendar.

Mr Jilima said Government was keen on promoting quality education in the country, with plans of making all levels of education compulsory.

He urged the children to remind their parents on the need to support their academic activities at home, to enable them excel in education.

Mr Jilima called on female students in the municipality to take advantage of the educational initiatives towards securing their future, and asked them to be on their guard against teenage pregnancy, and other social vices that might derail their ambitions.

He said the Assembly was bent on improving education in the area with interventions such as final examination registration support.
