Lorlornyo FM airs maiden edition of Volta Regional developmental programme; “Alekee ne Kpoe”

Lorlornyo FM on Sunday held the maiden edition of “Alekee ne Kpoe, a new programme developed to look at developmental issues pertaining to the Volta Region.

The programme hosted by Tornyeli Segbefia and Geoffrey Gah-Mensah was live on Lorlornyo 93.3 FM in Hohoe, Kaleawo 107.3 FM in Akatsi and online at www.lorlornyofm.com.

The two-hour programme which aired from 2:00pm – 4:00pm had a former Volta Regional Director of Education, Mr. Sewornuku Kploanyi, Reverend Father Isaac Benuyena of St. Augustines’ Catholic Church, Hohoe and Mr. Paul Addo who is an educationist, politician and social commentator as resource persons.

The programme discussed expectations of voters in the Volta Region from previous governments and the availability of natural resources in the region.

It also juxtaposed attention given by previous governments to the Volta and other regions in terms of developmental projects.

A concern which ran through the submissions of the three resource persons was the nature of roads in the region with much focus on the Asikuma – Kadjebi Stretch of the Eastern Corridor Road.

Listeners who joined the conversation via Whatsapp, SMS, and telephone called on citizens to unite and leaders to eschew egotism.

A number of messages from listeners applauded the radio station for introducing the programme and believed it will help move the region forward.

The next edition of the programme airs on Sunday, July 09, 2017 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm.
