MCE of Sekondi-Takoradi dies

The death is reported of Anthony K.K. Sam, the Metropolitan Chief Executive of Sekondi-Takoradi, in the late hours of June 12.

He was diagnosed of Pneumonia and had been on treatment in Accra at the University of Ghana Medical Centre, for so some weeks now.

Nana Kofi Mbeah, Former Metropolitan Director of Education, and a close associate to the deceased, confirmed this on the Open Governance Patnership Platform of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA).

He described the late Sam as affable.

Nana Mbeah, who worked with the former MCE at the Assembly, said he was committed to duty and showed great respect to all those he came into contact with.

“He always called me senior wherever we met…indeed we have lost a great personality”.

Mr Isaac Aidoo, a Senior Planning Officer with the Assembly, could not hold his tears.

“I am speechless,” were the only words he uttered.
