Members of Christian Service urged to adopt current trends in fashion

The Chairman of Christian Service, a group into vocational skills training, such as hairdressing and dressmaking has urged its members to adopt current trends in the fashion industry.

According to Mr Lawrence Kumor, the fasting changing nature of the world required that members of the association took advantage of the latest trends to become relevant in their vocation.

Speaking at a colourful ceremony in Akatsi during which 26 apprentices of the group graduated, Mr Kumor said members of the group needed to learn more about their trade at all times to bring the best out of them, while keeping in touch with the latest fashion trend.

The Chairman of the Graduation Ceremony, Mr Anthony Klutse in his closing address, also urged the graduating apprentices to adopt good customer-relations and be time conscious.

He pointed out that today’s big fashion shops started in small ways just as the current hairdressers, tailors and dressmakers, but with determination and good practices, they were able to rise to their current levels.

Mr Klutse advised tailors and dressmakers who had access to the internet to use them to learn about new cuttings and styles.

The event brought together artisans, officials from the Ghana Education Service, the clergy amongst others.
