NIA to register Adentan residents for Ghana Card

The National Identification Authority (NIA) is urging residents of the Adentan Municipality to register for the Ghana Card at some 50 designated registration centres from 5 November 2018 to 24 November 2018.

Some 130,000 residents are expected to get registered within the municipality in the mass exercise some areas of Accra.

This follows several complaints by the general public over the delay in the registration process which started in June 2018.

Some selected institutions and state agencies including the Presidency, Parliament and the Judicial Service were registered and issued with the cards from the start of the exercise.

The NIA has so far issued over 80,000 cards within the last four months, mostly to workers of state institutions.

Acting PRO of the NIA, Francis Palmdeti, has, therefore, urged residents of Adentan not to miss the opportunity to get registered, as the authority’s schedule may not cater for them when they move to other districts.
