Nkonya Old Students holds fitness walk

Mr David Quarshie Amevenku, President of the Nkonya Senior High School Old Students Association, has called on students to desist from practising occultism and using tramadol.

He said students should be mindful of the kind of friends they move along with so as to stay clear from the two dangers.

Mr Amevenku made the call at the end of a health walk organised by the Association in Accra.

The walk started from the El-Wak Sports Stadium, through the Military Hospital, to Nima and back to El-Wak.

It formed part of activities marking the 50th anniversary celebration of the school, which begins in November.

Mr Amevenku said the 50th anniversary of the school should have been celebrated four years ago but was postponed due to some unforeseen circumstances.

‘Now that everything is in order, we are going to celebrate the school which has made us what we are today’, the President said.

He said the Association had been able to renovate the science laboratory, provided the school with some essential equipment and this is besides mentoring the students.

Mr Amevenku paid tribute to the founding fathers of the school whose foresight has brought the school into being and had offered quality education to many people.
