Parishners of Hohoe St. Augustine’s Catholic Church observe Good Friday

Parishners of the St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Hohoe today observed the Good Friday in a very solemn mood.

From the church’s premises on the FRANCO Street, they processed through some principal streets of Hohoe with the Fourteen Stations of the Cross amidst prayers and singing of solemn songs.

There was re-enactment of Jesus Christ carrying the cross with soldiers dragging him.

Led by the Parish Priest, Reverend Father Isaac Benuyenah, hundreds of parishners; both young and old followed up.

In an interview with Lorlornyo News, Reverend Father Benuyenah said the re-enactment was to remind Christians of the suffering and pains Jesus Christ went through because of their sins.

He urged Christians to turn a new leaf, adding it was time every Christian went into meditation, and see where they had fallen short in life and how they could make amends.

Reverend Father Benuyenah also called on Christians not to let the suffering, pains and death of Jesus Christ be in vain, but they should live lives that would be worth it.
