Pastor advises Christians to guard against false prophets

The Founder of Calvary Chapel International, Apostle Bernard Takyi has advised Christians to guard against false prophets who only exist to lead them into destruction.

Speaking on the menace on Lorlornyo FM’s Day Break programme on Monday, Apostle Bernard Takyi said such prophets engage so many tricks including the use of unclean spirits to swindle unsuspecting Christians of huge sums of money.

He identified some of the tricks as fake prophecies and directions which do not exist in the Bible, adding Christians must study the Bible to easily make them out.

“When you study the Bible, you will realize that some of these prophecies and directions are not supported by the Bible. They only make them up to play on your intelligence because they know that is what you want to hear. That is the reason you must study the Bible and stop running after prophecies,”he said.

He called on men of God to avoid diluting messages in the Bible in their bid to increase membership of their churches.

He also counseled churches not to only receive money from congregants but assist the poor and needy financially.

He said: “The sheep are now being slain for the shepherd and not vise versa as it is suppose to be. In some churches, there are people who cannot afford three square meals a day but are forced to contribute money to purchase a preacher a new car. For me, that is not right”.
