A teenage hunter and his dog drinking from a dugout just by the Salaga Slave Wells, the dugout is the only available source of drinking water in that vicinity in the Salaga township.

Salaga, the capital of East Gonja District now municipality is one of the areas in the Northern Region with severe water crisis. The water situation has persisted for decades. Ironically, the municipality is surrounded by the Daka River, Katanga-mabung makango rivers, and chambulugu valleys.

Pupils of the St Peters Basic School in Salaga travelling in a tricycle from school to their homes in Masaka, a community about twenty five minutes drive from the Salaga township in their quest to seek education since school in their community is one of the poorest in the municipal.

A resident of Kaden crossing a bridge which has been flooded after the contractor abandoned the project almost three years ago.

A woman picking bad nuts from dried shea nuts in the Kaden community. Shea butter is the main stay of women in Northern Region. Women here pick the Shea nuts from the wild amidst snake bites.

An improvised latrine constructed by residents of Nanjuni in the Yendi Municipal of the Northern Region. This project is under the SNV where locals are trained to construct alternate latrines for household usage.

A teenager going to fetch water from a dam in the Chereponi district on his truck being aided by donkeys, a sight that greets visitors as donkeys remain a major source of transportation for rural folks especially to young girls and boys who have to fill barrels with water each morning before making it to school.
