Plan Ghana and NCCE sensitizes selected youth on Ghana’s constitution

A three day workshop to sensitize some selected youth on Ghana’s constitution commenced yesterday in Hohoe.

The workshop being organized by Plan Ghana International and the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) will focus on the rights and responsibilities of the participants.

Interacting with Lorlornyo News on the opening day of the workshop, the Hohoe Municipal Director of the NCCE, Ernest Amedior, indicated the participants who are members of the Youth Advisory Board were selected from the 13 PLAN communities of the Hohoe municipality.

He said the three day workshop will equip the 26 participants with the requisite knowledge to trigger positive changes to the lifestyle of the youth in their communities.

He indicated the programme will arm the participants with the necessary tools to stand in the face of abuse, fight for their rights while keeping in mind their responsibilities.

Mr. Ernest Amedior called on adults to work towards securing a better future for the youth.

The Deputy Volta Regional Director of the NCCE, Robert Amenyo, who also spoke to Lorlonyo News, indicated children understanding their rights and responsibilities early in life will make them grow into responsible adults.

He said the workshop which is also taking place at Afadjato South and South Tongu Districts, will focus on Legislative Instruments and 1992 constitutional articles that empower the child.

Two participants who spoke to Lorlornyo News indicated they will spear head the drive for change in their various communities after the workshop.
