Tension brewing at Akyem Apapam over installation of chief

There is mounting tension at Akyem Apapam in the Eastern region as traditional authorities there have vowed to use all means to oppose a proposed installation of a parallel chief by the Okyenhene Amoatia Ofori Panyin.

The elders and youth claim they have gathered information suggesting that persons from the Okyenhene’s palace, intend to install a new chief tomorrow without the permission of the kingmakers of Apapam.

They vowed to prevent the installation of any other Chiefs.

At a press conference held in the area, Kyedom Panyin of Akyem Apapam Nana Poku Mintah called on President Akufo-Addo and Member of Parliament Samuel Atta Kyea to intervene to prevent any blood bath.
