The Chief Executive of telecoms giant, Vodafone Ghana, Yolanda Zoleka Cuba, says there are excellent opportunities to make Ghana one of the leading countries in West Africa.
“When you look at the demographics of the country, you look at the micro-economic factors in the country, you can see that there is clearly an opportunity to actually position Ghana as one of the leading countries in West Africa,” she said.
The Vodafone Ghana CEO who took up the job in may 2016 was speaking to Joy FM’s Nhyira Addo as part of the station’s new news feature, The Movers, aired on the Super Morning Show.
She said things have changed slightly since then.
Conversations amongst business leaders in the country, she said, show renewed confidence and a belief that the prospects in the economy are bright.
“I think right now what is different from, most probably, about nine months ago is that sentiment has changed; that is a leading indicator,” she said.
Ms Yolanda said even though in reality there hasn’t been substantial change in the micro-economic factors, “if you look at the conversations that we are having as businesses, as colleagues, [people] are much more positive; everyone is looking at a different kind of narrative that the new government is coming in with.”
