Two thousand three hundred and thirty sit for BECE in Hohoe

A total of 2,330 candidates are writing this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in Hohoe, in the Volta region.

Out of the number, 1,181 are boys and 1,149, girls from 78 public and private schools.

The candidates are writing the examination at eight centres in the Municipality.

At Alavanyo Wudidi L/A Junior High School, one of the five examination centres visited by the Hohoe Municipal Education Directorate, a total of 170 pupils made up of 77 boys and 93 girls sat for the first paper.

Mr. Steve Obour, Supervisor at the Alavanyo Wudidi L/A JHS centre told Mrs Gladys Amenya, the Hohoe Municipal Director of Education that five pupils were absent.

The Director asked him to find out reasons for the absenteeism and report to her office in time.

Mrs Amenya who started her tour from the St. Francis College of Education (FRANCO), wished the candidates success and admonished them to avoid any form of examination malpractices.
