V.C.R.A.C Crabbe was a model public servant – Asare

US-based Ghanaian professor and private legal practitioner, Kwaku Asare, has described the late former Justice of Ghana’s Supreme Court, Justice Vincent Cyril Richard Arthur Charles Crabbe, as a rare and model public servant who was in the public service to serve rather than to acquire private gains.

Mr Crabbe died on Friday, 7 September 2018 after a short illness. He was 95.

He was a former Professor of Law at the University of West Indies and a Professor of Law at Mountcrest University.

In a Facebook post, Prof Asare said: “Justice Crabbe was a rare and model public servant who was in the public service to serve rather than to acquire private gains. He touched every facet of our legal framework, including being an architect of the 1969 and 1979 Constitutions, both of which served as a template for the current one. Requiescat in Pace, Sir VCRAC Crabbe.”
