Earlier this week Eman was airlifted to a new hospital in Abu Dhabi, but medics in UAE say she’s suffering from a “cardiac issue” and infected bed sores.
Her sister Shaimaa Selim released a video on social media claiming Eman can’t speak or move.
Shaimaa also suggested that her sister hadn’t lost as much weight as doctors said – sparking a row with her bariatric surgeon in India, Dr Muffazal Lakdawala.
Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi issued a statement saying 20 doctors are caring for Eman in her critical condition.
It said: “She is currently facing several health conditions, including a cardiac issue, which is still under intensive investigation; severe urosepsis [a bacterial infection complicating a urinary tract infection]; and third-degree infected bed sores.”
Doctors at the hospital are “currently focused on improving her health condition and ensuring that as part of the hospital’s short-term goal, Eman is able to sit with minimal to no assistance”.
Eman had previously not left her home in Alexandria, Egypt, for 25 years prior to the weight loss trip to India.
The former world’s fattest woman was flown from her home to the hospital on a specially-modified cargo plane to go under the knife.
She had to be lifted out of bed by a crane and the walls of her room had to be knocked down before she could leave.
Prior to having the gastric band fitted, Eman was put on a strict 1,200-calorie per day liquid diet and fed every two hours.
Medics revealed that Eman has already lost a staggering 4.5st during her first five days in hospital – which works out as nearly one stone per day.
